Craig 8 track tape player9/11/2023 First mine did not record, as the resistor that feeds the bias oscillator form the power supply was open. The unit I have works well and sounds outstanding with clear highs. It allows to play one program, the entire cartridge, or continuously without ejecting. There are auto stop functions that eject the cartridge when the corresponding cycle is complete and with that shuts the unit off when done playing. This deck features a strong AC synchronous motor that plays even difficult tapes well. It seems to me that if I were having a belt issue that it would be running slow versus fast. It is playing consistently too FAST, 8.6 too fast to be exact. Like other Pioneer equipment this deck is built super rugged and to last.
